A South Gate tattoo removal clinic has seen a rise in demand for its services by those who now see their inked creations as a disadvantage.

He currently has three, but would now like to have the two on his left arm removed. The unfinished abstract creation on his shoulder and the triple x’s on his wrists are not compatible with the place he would like to work in. “The restaurant where I want to work says that tattoos have to be above the sleeve or not show,” said Gintz, who said that it would be uncomfortable for him to work with a long sleeve shirt. “I want to get this job.” Gintz happened to be in South Gate while shopping for dog food, before stumbling upon Tattoo Removal Inc. on Imperial Highway. Local restaurant owners believe that a wider variety of food establishments would lead to better sales.

The owner of this new establishment, Napoleon Garcia, 28, is optimistic about the future of his restaurant. The owner of the former Los Angeles Harley Davidson admits that South Gate's high sales tax played a part in his decision to move. However, it was not his main reason for doing so.

Several reasons led the owner to make this decision, and South Gate’s one percent add on sale tax partly influenced it. “It was another barrier for people to purchase things,” said Kevin Jones, 34, owner of Los Angeles Harley Davidson dealership. “When people bought merchandise our prices were higher because of the tax.” Customers purchasing gear from the dealership had to pay more because sales tax. There are more then 300 homes in foreclosure in South Gate. Lenders sent default notices to 11,443 homeowners in the county during the first quarter of 2012, compared to 13,957 by this time last year.

I agree with all previous comments about better selection and quality food in tweedy mile to boost traffic but this place lacks proper mangement and the food is just bad. Honestly why spend soo much in renovations and serve unsatisfying food. I remember years ago my whole family came to this spot for delicious breakfast. more ›
