The South Gate Police Department was informed of the man's death.
The man that jumped from a traffic light on the southwest corner of Imperial Highway and Garfield Avenue, last Tuesday afternoon, has been pronounced dead, according to police. “He died because of his injuries,” said Lieutenant Frank “Pico” Rivera of the South Gate Police Department. “His family has been notified.” The police ruled the man’s death as a suicide, and was on scene, along with the Los Angeles County Fire Department, trying to convince him to not jump. Witnesses to the fall say that the man fell head first into the pavement. “The hospital told us that the subject was be brain dead,” said Lt. South Gate will get a chance to see some of the culinary talents of its youngest generation during the Health Fair that will take place this Friday at South Gate Park. The following 11 finalists have been selected: The finalists should report to the contest booth at 5:00 pm and come with their dish that is big enough for ten people to share it. They should also be ready to answer why they selected their recipe, and what is that makes their entry a healthy dish. From 6:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. certificates and scholarships will be awarded by the Young Professional's, Sam's Club and IHOP. All 11 finalists will receive all sorts of certificates. A South Gate tattoo removal clinic has seen a rise in demand for its services by those who now see their inked creations as a disadvantage.

He currently has three, but would now like to have the two on his left arm removed. This morning at approximately 10:16 a.m. a man in his late thirties was reported to be running into traffic, as well as jumping on top of cars, on the southwest corner of Garfield Avenue and Imperial Highway. Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) is alerting all its customers to be aware of a scam that has impacted other utility customers in several states across the country. The scam claims that President Barack Obama is providing credits or applying payments to utility bills. In some cases, scammers have asked for social security numbers in order to allow for credits or to apply payments to customers' utility bills, presenting an identity-theft risk. According to reports, scammers have visited customers in person, posted fliers and used social media and texting to send messages claiming that President Obama will provide a credit or directly pay utility bills.
